About Safe Life Oregon

Safe Life Oregon is a program of the Oregon Firearm Safety Coalition, a nonprofit, nonpartisan, community-led organization working to prevent firearm suicide while respecting firearm ownership rights. We connect firearm owners and families with trusted local firearm dealers who offer voluntary, temporary, out-of-home storage when life circumstances change.

Developed in partnership with firearm owners, veterans, first responders, retailers, and suicide prevention professionals, Safe Life Oregon provides practical options without shame, stigma, or judgment. By creating time and distance during periods of stress or transition, we help protect lives, strengthen families, and support safer communities.

Donna-Marie Drucker, MA
Co-Founder and Executive Director, Oregon Firearm Safety Coalition

Raised in a rural community in England and the daughter of a gunsmith, Donna-Marie understands that firearms are more than objects, they may represent family, tradition, identity, protection, and freedom. She is also a recreational shooter, the longtime spouse of an Army combat veteran, and a mental health professional with experience supporting veterans, first responders, firearm owners, older adults, and people navigating trauma or crisis. Her commitment is deeply personal and informed by her own lived experience with suicide.

As co-founder and executive director of the Oregon Firearm Safety Coalition, Donna-Marie has brought together firearm dealers, gun clubs, veterans, first responders, public health professionals, and community organizations across Oregon. She helped develop Safe Life Oregon to give firearm owners a trusted, voluntary, and stigma-free way to store firearms outside the home when life circumstances change.

Donna-Marie’s work is grounded in a simple belief: respecting firearm ownership and preventing suicide are not competing values. When firearm owners and trusted community partners lead this work together, we protect lives, strengthen families, and preserve freedom.
